Chapter 496: That World Will Be Ours
He was, after all, an emperor who ruled over part of the world. Though his power was merely that of a mortal, his resolve actually surpassed that of the high-ranking Fairy Qin Xiaoxia had plucked bald back then.
In response to Wogevde's resolve, the tall, black-robed figure before him approached the desk.
"Wogevde, I must remind you that a living being's lifespan is part of the laws of this world, and part of fate. Even if you are an emperor, you are no different from any other mortal in the eyes of those laws-or in mine."
Qin Xiaoxia turned toward the wooden tank in the study, inset with crystal panes. Several fish of different colors swam inside.
"What you are about to do amounts to changing the laws governing your own fate!"
Turning toward the desk again, the Thoughtform's gaze shone with light like countless particles. Wogevde suddenly seemed to realize that the other party was not looking at him.
Sensing something, he turned to look at the great woven map covering half the wall behind him. It depicted the territory of the Qinggelie Empire, as well as several neighboring countries.
"And you are the emperor of a nation. Changing your fate amounts to changing the fate of the entire Qinggelie Empire. It may very well trigger changes in the world and draw unforeseen resistance. You must be prepared for that."
"What resistance?"
Wogevde asked anxiously.
"Heh, natural disasters or man-made calamities. No one can know until we reach that point. Well, since you have made up your mind, let me tell you how."
Seeing Wogevde's puzzled expression, Qin Xiaoxia continued before he could speak.
"Are you wondering why you still need a method? Why I cannot simply grant you a longer life?"
