Chapter 600: A layer of the Abyss
Brantai's cleaning of the memorial and paying his respects was only one of many similar scenes across this world. For many of its Ridge-Crowned People, the war between light and darkness was over.
In truth, however, some still remained vigilant against the power of Hell and the Fiend. Apart from Earth's forces, there was also the newly reformed Church of Light.
The large-scale war against the demons ended roughly two months after the last Demon Lord was confirmed dead, followed by a search that lasted about a year.
There were certainly still creatures that had accidentally crossed over from the Outer World, and perhaps even some demons remained, but at least they could no longer pose a major threat.
Then, around the winter of the second year, this world was completely "dragged into the Abyss," almost right up to the World Mother's mouth.
Truthfully, Qin Xiaoxia had been more nervous then than all the Ridge-Crowned People, or even the Otherworld's World Consciousness. Those latter two were ignorant of the truth and full of eager anticipation, whereas Qin Xiaoxia knew Earth Mother's temperament all too well.
He genuinely feared that, once the world had been dragged close enough, Earth Mother would swallow it whole, eating first and worrying about everything else later.
Fortunately, Earth Mother seemed to have firmly remembered Qin Xiaoxia's theory about hens laying eggs and cows producing milk. She restrained her impulse and instead used her extraordinarily powerful and unique world power to permeate and assimilate this Otherworld, gradually changing its formerly sluggish course and stimulating its vitality.
