Chapter 641: Changes to the Drawer and Scroll
Apart from the Horn-Helmet Beasts' whinnies, the only sound was the flowing stream.
The party stood in a long line beside the stream, staring at the opposite bank.
Riva looked left, then right, studying the important figures in the line before finally fixing his gaze on Goys. He knew this was the man who could make the decision.
"The star is in that direction!"
Riva spoke up to remind them, drawing everyone's attention to himself. He dared not say another word and looked rather ill at ease.
Goys studied the filthy commoner and the scabbed scars on his face, then glanced at the others in the line and raised the Beast Whip in his hand.
"We'll rest here first. Once we've replenished our water, we'll cross the river!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
The party began moving to an open stretch beside the stream to fill their water containers, wash, and prepare campfires.
That night, apart from those taking turns on watch, everyone rested well and recovered their strength.
At dawn, the Daystar was only just about to rise, but the woods remained very dark, and the stars overhead were still clearly visible.
By then, the entire party had already finished their preparations and extinguished the campfires.
Riva checked the stars again to confirm their bearings, then Goys ordered everyone to set off across the river.
Splash, splash, splash...
Water splashed constantly beneath the feet of the Horn-Helmet Beasts and the travelers. With a hint of tension in their hearts, the party reached the opposite bank.
Here, the forest felt noticeably more vibrant than before. They could even see flowers in bloom.
