Youyi sat beside Riva, picked up his right hand, and opened it so she could clearly see the mark on his palm.
Her own skill was insufficient to conceal the mark the way the Dawn Members in her memories had done, so it now looked like an obvious burn on his palm.
But compared with its earlier faint appearance, Youyi felt that the Daybreak symbol seemed to have deepened.
"I originally thought this was just a mark to verify your identity. But Riva... you seemed to trigger something during that crisis just now. The mark glowed. Did you feel anything change?"
Though Youyi asked, the answer was almost inevitable. She knew what Riva had originally been capable of. Even if his body now surpassed an ordinary person's because of her, he had not undergone a complete transformation. How could he possibly have done what he just did?
Youyi's question was something Riva had been pondering ever since the fight, and he had already wanted to discuss it with her.
"Just then, all I could think was that I absolutely couldn't let the Giant Monsters catch up with Old Pisiri and the others. So I provoked them, hoping to draw their attention back to me."
Riva recalled his actions with lingering fear.
"Yes, yes! That was actually when I saw your right hand start glowing!"

Riva froze for a moment, because he had noticed none of that at the time. Only then did he continue.

Riva looked a little dazed as he sank into his memories of the moment.
