"Hey, you over there! What are you staring at? Get over here and help your Sister Xiao Wu push this bed!"
Xiao Wu planted her hands on her hips and pointed at Tang San.
She had already noticed that he kept staring at her.
Granted, she was a natural beauty, loved by everyone, with flowers blooming wherever she went. She certainly attracted these boys.
But this guy was utterly disgusting, staring at her nonstop. That look in his eyes, especially, made goose bumps rise all over her.
Tang San pointed at himself and asked uncertainly, "Are you talking to me?"
Xiao Wu said impatiently, "Of course! Who else would I be talking to?"
"Out of everyone in Dorm Seven, you look the least busy. Get over here and help your Sister Xiao Wu push this bed."
Tang San felt as though something had hammered his heart, and conflict flickered in his eyes.
He looked toward Su Mo, a flash of ice passing through his gaze.
Though deeply unwilling, he still walked over to Xiao Wu's bed.
Su Mo watched the scene with interest.
Honestly, he had never expected things to turn out this way.
Something about this scene felt rather bizarre.
Tang San helped Xiao Wu push her bed over to sit beside his own.
Su Mo felt this had a touch of that whole... in front of the husband thing?
He was also rather speechless. Naturally, he had noticed the look Tang San had given him.
What did any of this have to do with him? He hadn't said a single word the entire time.
Xiao Wu had clearly ordered it all, yet somehow Tang San seemed to have dumped all the blame onto him.
Ugh, what a pain.
He really didn't want to get too entangled with Little Scumbag.
Soon enough.
Tang San pushed Xiao Wu's bed into place beside Su Mo's, expending all his strength.
Beads of sweat had even appeared on his forehead.
Yet Xiao Wu spoke to Tang San with a look of distaste.
"All right, there's nothing else for you to do here."
Tang San opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately swallowed his words.
His gaze, however, landed on Su Mo.
It's all this guy's fault. If not for him, why would Xiao Wu have made me push her bed?
This man has already earned himself a path to death.
"Wait, why are you looking at me? I didn't say anything."
Meeting Tang San's gaze, Su Mo inexplicably felt that he had become a target.
Tang San sneered.
You think saying nothing lets you off the hook?
You didn't stop her, so you're in the wrong.
So all of this is your fault. You've already earned yourself a path to death.
Su Mo had no idea what Tang San was thinking.
He watched Xiao Wu make her bed and place a bundle in the middle.
"Starting today, you're not allowed to cross past this bundle, got it?"
"If you cross the line, don't blame me for getting rough."
Su Mo smiled. "What if you're the one who crosses the line?"
Xiao Wu put her hands on her hips. "Hmph! I'm a girl, you know. If I cross the line, shouldn't you be secretly celebrating?"
Su Mo thought about it. That did seem true.
Looking at Xiao Wu's figure, which was beginning to take shape, Su Mo felt he certainly wouldn't be losing out.
"All right, it's time for lunch. Sister Xiao Wu, Brother Su Mo, want to come along?" Wang Sheng asked then.
Xiao Wu immediately jumped up and said excitedly, "Sure! What tasty food do they have?"
Su Mo wasn't excited. He knew that, as work-study students, they would be lucky just to eat their fill.
Tasty food was out of the question.
Sure enough, no matter which world you ended up in, there was no escaping the need for money.
Wang Sheng and the other work-study students all smiled wryly. "Sister Xiao Wu, for work-study students like us, being able to fill our stomachs is already pretty good."
"When we get to the dining hall, we'll just buy something cheap and make do."
"Oh, right. Tang San, are you coming?"
Tang San shook his head. "I'll pass."
He was penniless at the moment and had no money to eat at the dining hall.
Wang Sheng seemed to realize Tang San had no money, so he offered generously, "Come along. My treat today!"
"Consider it a celebration of the new arrivals in Dorm Seven, and a welcome feast for Sister Xiao Wu."
Tang San thought it over, his gaze lingering on Xiao Wu for a few more seconds, then finally nodded.
Su Mo didn't mind either way. If someone was treating, he certainly wasn't going to miss out.
Whatever else could be said about him, Wang Sheng could be quite loyal to his friends.
The whole group marched into the first-floor dining hall.
As luck would have it, they ran into Yu Xiaogang.
Tang San hurried forward to greet him.
Su Mo looked at Gangzi's crew cut, feeling rather curious.
That line of Gangzi's was still fresh in his memory: there were no useless martial souls, only useless Soul Masters.
Su Mo had no idea what Gangzi had been thinking. Insulting himself twice in a single sentence was quite a feat.
Yu Xiaogang exchanged a few words with Tang San.
His gaze suddenly settled on Su Mo.
"I hear your martial soul is a mutated martial soul?"
Su Mo didn't know what Yu Xiaogang wanted, but he still nodded. "That's right."
Yu Xiaogang continued, "May I take a look?"
Su Mo grew even more puzzled. What was Gangzi up to?
Could he actually be thinking of taking him as a disciple?
No, that didn't make sense. He had already taken Tang San, and on the surface, Su Mo's current martial soul was still a trash martial soul with only rank-three innate soul power.
Yu Xiaogang shouldn't have been interested in him.
Could he be planning to test his so-called ten core theories of martial souls on him?
Though he had no idea what Gangzi wanted, Su Mo still summoned his martial soul.
Looking at the Gashapon Machine in Su Mo's hands, Yu Xiaogang was somewhat surprised. "It really is a mutated martial soul. Does it have any special traits?"
Su Mo ventured, "Does dispensing capsules count?"
Yu Xiaogang was baffled. "What?"
Su Mo explained, "You put in a coin, and then an egg drops out from inside."
At that, Yu Xiaogang was deeply disappointed. "So it's just a toy. Then it has no potential for development."
"Besides, I hear your innate soul power is only rank three. I'm afraid you may never break past rank thirty in your lifetime."
Yu Xiaogang was very disappointed. He had thought he had encountered a mutated martial soul with decent potential.
Now it seemed he had been wrong-wildly wrong.
It was nothing but a toy martial soul, with no potential for development whatsoever.
He turned and headed up to the second floor.
Su Mo was speechless. He hadn't even finished speaking, and Gangzi had already dismissed his martial soul.
Had Gangzi not thought about himself when saying those things?
Watching Yu Xiaogang walk away, Wang Sheng scoffed. "Brother Su Mo, don't listen to that bullshit Grandmaster."
"That guy isn't much in a fight. I hear he's almost fifty and still stuck at rank twenty-nine."
"I'm telling you, if he weren't on good terms with the principal, there's no way he could stay at the academy. He's just a freeloader."
Beside them, Tang San's gaze turned cold. "I won't allow you to speak about my teacher like that."
Wang Sheng looked at Tang San in realization. "Oh, I almost forgot. You took that so-called Grandmaster as your teacher. I'd advise you to find another one while you still can."
Tang San snorted coldly. "Unless you want to spar with me again, don't speak ill of my teacher from now on."
With that, he turned and left.
At a time like this, how could he possibly keep tagging along for a free meal?
No one in this world was allowed to insult his teacher.
He held his teacher in the highest esteem.
He, Tang San, revered Yu Xiaogang.
Watching Tang San leave, Wang Sheng said disdainfully, "Ignore him. He's an idiot. Let's go eat."
Xiao Wu, however, sidled up to Su Mo curiously. "Su Mo, you said your martial soul could dispense eggs. What does that mean?"
"Can you eat the eggs it dispenses? Does that mean I'll never run out of eggs to eat?"
Su Mo stared at Xiao Wu's tender pink lips and smiled. "You'll definitely have plenty of eggs to eat from now on."
