That scarlet arc streaked across the night sky from the northeast of Crossing Peak Stronghold, so fast that even Divine Sense at the illusion-breaking level caught only a sliver of its trailing flame.
Yi Yang stood in the corridor outside the first-floor boxes. His body reacted before his mind did, swiftly slipping half a step inward and pressing his back against the wall, ready to defend himself.

The restricting wards on the top floor shattered layer by layer beneath that arrow. Three screens of light were pierced like paper window coverings, and the arrow bore straight toward Jiang Zhongtian's Supreme Box, carrying the will to punch through the entire pavilion.
Inside the Supreme Box, Jiang Zhongtian rose to his feet. His eyes, sharp as spears, had already locked onto that streak of bloody light.
He did not dodge. He merely advanced the silver spear at his side by half an inch.
