Uchiha Hikaru Again!

The Sannin, Hatake Sakumo, Danzo, the young Namikaze Minato, and Nawaki Senju were all good choices.

The latter two might still need grooming, but the former could take office directly. Although Hikaru disliked Danzo and found him detestable, he had to admit that Danzo was indeed quite capable when it came to holding a high position.

Most importantly, the man had tremendous nerve. His methods might have been underhanded, but he was strong enough. Not every Hokage had to be as outstanding as Hashirama Senju, Senju Tobirama, or Hiruzen Sarutobi to qualify as a competent Hokage.

It depended on the person. Different personalities naturally led to different ways of handling affairs. Hikaru would belittle Danzo endlessly, but he also had to acknowledge some of Danzo's strengths.

So far, Konoha's three Hokage had all made outstanding contributions. No matter how strong later Hokage became, it would be difficult for them to compare with those three unless they accomplished things the previous Hokage could not.

At least, that was what Hikaru thought.

The three Hokage represented three stages.

The first stage was Hashirama Senju. As the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju had joined forces with Madara Uchiha to establish Konoha, supported the Land of Fire's Daimyo, and drew numerous clans into Konoha. Any one of those achievements was enough to astonish people.

Compared to his elder brother Hashirama Senju, Senju Tobirama of the second stage did not seem as perfect. But one had to remember that Konoha had reached its peak under Senju Tobirama. Many matters Hashirama Senju could not resolve were settled after Senju Tobirama became Hokage.

Some of those plans could not have existed without Senju Tobirama. They might not have seemed like much on the surface, but his contributions were immense as well.
