Vesir froze. To be fair, though she had been somewhat surprised by Ash's appearance, it had not been entirely unexpected. Her relationship with Ash was tangled into an utter mess, and besides, she had caused such a huge disturbance in Silent Helix that it was only natural for Ash, that unexpected engine, to be drawn in.

Vesir had originally thought she would run into Ash when she activated Silent Helix, and would then have to fight a bitter battle before reaching the eighteenth level.
