"Xiu'er? Xiu'er?"
Ash, who was sprawled over the dining table, was pushed twice. He mumbled a couple of times, rubbed his eyes, and sat up, seeing two familiar young men sitting beside him. The one on the left looked all right, but he was sloppy and plainly dressed, obviously a shut-in at a glance. The one on the right was dressed properly, but he had heavy dark circles under his eyes and a clear scar on his neck, making him look a little frightening.
"It's only been a few years since graduation, and one little bit of Qing Beer knocks you straight out, Xiu'er?" the shut-in said, torn between laughter and exasperation. "If you can't drink, go sit at the kids' table!"
"Xiu'er pulled an all-nighter last night, kept working during the day, then rushed over right after getting off work. It's normal he was tired enough to fall asleep," Dark Circles said. "If you really can't hold on, Xiu'er, sleep for a while first. We'll wake you when it's time for the toast."
As consciousness gradually returned to his body, it was as if the gunk blocking his senses had suddenly melted away. Bright colors and clamorous noise instantly drowned Ash's perception.

After all, it was the first time he had heard of someone his own age getting married, so even after going through a hellish cycle of overtime day and night, Ash had still come without hesitation.
