Ash looked at the Square Round Cicada on his shoulder. After Weiser had taken the initiative to send the Square Cicada over, the Round Cicada had reunited with it.

Logically speaking, after Ash became a Legendary Arcanist, he should have been able to subdue the Square Round Cicada, this Four-Winged Spell Spirit. But judging from White Dove, Fire Cat, and Blue Bird, these gods who had ascended from Great Laws all harbored intense resistance toward their arcanist masters. In that case, the Square Round Cicada, a spell spirit transformed from a Great Law, probably would not be very friendly toward an arcanist master either.

As long as the Square Round Cicada was still with him, Ash had no need to insist on subduing it.

Aside from the Square Round Cicada, more than a dozen spell spirits, including Thousand Mechanisms, were in Ash's hands. Weiser knew perfectly well that she was doomed to die, and she had no interest in taking these spell spirits with her to the grave, so she simply gave them all to Ash for free.
