"Rose, you go back upstairs first."

Ash pulled his hand out of Rose's, then looked down and almost failed to recognize it as his own. It was so pale, tender, and smooth that he felt like Rose would start polishing it with sandpaper if this went on much longer.

"We need to discuss some Role-Playing Game topics," he remarked. "It's not really suitable to have any normal people present."

Rose glanced at Vesir's snow-white, frost-fair feet propped on the coffee table and asked, "Do you need me to prepare disinfecting mouthwash?"

"I'm not going to lick them, don't worry."

"I think you'd better not be so confident." Vesir stretched lazily, her arches drawn taut, her lotus-shoot toes pressing together. "But I don't want you drinking mouthwash either. You ought to submit to me with gratitude and humiliation."

Rose thought for a moment, then asked carefully, "Miss Vesir, you aren't going to attack Ash, are you? I mean in every sense. After all, Ash is injured right now. Any physical exertion will affect his recovery."

"You don't need to worry at all, Rose." Vesir rested her cheek on one hand and also propped up her other long leg, which was still clad in black silk stockings, saying languidly, "I've always liked being the 'conqueror.' Ash only needs to take on the shameful work of being the 'conquered.' I'll personally handle all the other heavy physical labor."

"Then I can go back and watch my show with peace of mind. Remember to drink the Pork Tea." Rose pulled the Mercury Thermometer out from under Ash's armpit, held it up to the light, recorded the reading in her Notebook, and leisurely left. Ash froze for a moment. He had absolutely no memory of when Rose had slipped the thermometer in.
