This was a windowless room. The harsh white fluorescent light buzzed and sputtered for a long while, like something struggling on its deathbed, before finally flickering on.

A chill and a strange smell in the air engulfed the man who had just entered. He sighed, pushed up his glasses, and furrowed his brow deeply.

"Thank you, Mr. Fort. Please give me some time alone now."

"Of course, Commissioner Gordon. Here's the autopsy report. When you leave, please push the body back into the cold drawer, and remember to turn off the lights."

The coroner nodded understandingly at Gordon. As someone who had seen what lay beneath that white sheet, he understood Gordon's thoughts.
