Zhang Xiaohua was startled and hurriedly sealed his mouth and nose shut. With one kick, he struck the beast's horn, forcibly kicking its head around. Without delay, his left hand swiftly formed a hand seal. A transparent light barrier flew from his hand toward the three-leaved Baihua Grass, swiftly enveloping it. At that moment, the guardian beast let out another furious roar and pounced at him.

Zhang Xiaohua remained perfectly at ease. Using the Riding the Wind Technique, he flew into the air. Once he had put some distance between them, he beckoned with his hand, and the light barrier dragged the three-leaved grass up from the ground and straight into his hand. Zhang Xiaohua immediately took a jade box from his money pouch and quickly placed it inside. Then, while flying onward, he cast hand seals onto the jade box before finally returning it to the pouch.

Below Zhang Xiaohua, the guardian beast's eyes had long since turned red with rage. It actually abandoned the swamp and pursued Zhang Xiaohua through the air. Along the way, every tree blocking its path was effortlessly smashed apart.

Seeing that he could not shake off the beast, Zhang Xiaohua descended and once again burrowed underground, heading in another direction.

When the beast reached the place where Zhang Xiaohua had landed, it could no longer find so much as his shadow. In boundless fury, it smashed down all the surrounding flowers, grass, and trees, leveling the area to the ground. Only after exhausting itself did it roar and head back.

By then, Zhang Xiaohua had tunneled to a place overflowing with floral fragrance.

This place had already left the forest behind. It was a low-lying hollow, roughly twenty zhang across, filled with countless flowers and plants—and naturally, many extremely valuable herbs. Zhang Xiaohua
