Background / History

Jiang Jian was raised at Dragon Arising Temple under the personal guidance of his grandfather, Jiang Changsheng. At seven, he trained in the Taiqing Sword Art with the Taihang Sword, but rejected swordsmanship in favor of heavier weapons. Jiang Changsheng recognized his unusually abundant True Qi and body-tempering potential, then created the Heavenly Thunder Undying Divine Body specifically for him 92.

During Great Jing's Luck Dynasty Ceremony, Jiang Jian's birthmark absorbed an immense amount of Luck. The mark was revealed to be a Daopattern compatible with Jiang Changsheng's Great Dao Eye; Jiang Changsheng sealed the excess Luck within it so it could temper Jiang Jian gradually through future breakthroughs 94 95.

Jiang Jian chose Martial Dao over the status of a prince, setting his ambitions on surpassing Huang Chuan, Ping An, and ultimately Jiang Changsheng. He had no interest in contesting the throne, easing Jiang Xiu's fears that his exceptional talent could threaten the succession 95 98.

After reaching the Golden Body Realm, Jiang Jian entered Great Jing's military affairs. Jiang Xiu named him Divine Strategy Great General, and Jiang Jian declared that he needed no army because he himself was an army 133. He later fought alongside Ping An against the Hongxuan Dynasty and Eastern Sea Dynasty's forces, including five Golden Body Realm opponents at once 172.

In the Great Wilderness, Jiang Jian traveled with Lin Haotian, Ping An, and Ling Feng. Their encounters with the Abyssal Demon and the Ancient Giant Venerable exposed the gap between their strength and Jiang Changsheng's, but Jiang Jian remained determined to become strong enough to protect Great Jing 249 284.

Jiang Changsheng later personally brought Jiang Jian to the Harmony Light Fate Lord, who agreed to watch over him and introduce him to the Great Thousand Worlds and Great Dao Vitality 571. Jiang Jian subsequently accepted two disciples from Profound Fate 589. He was eventually selected to receive the Heavenly Dao Flag and the divine authority of the God of War, giving him command over the Immortal Dao's future Dao Tradition wars 710.

Appearance

Jiang Jian is distinguished by a vertical third eye on his forehead, originally concealed beneath a cloth strip. After receiving the Youth Preservation Pill, he retained the appearance of a vigorous twenty-five-year-old despite being forty-five 95 133.

Personality

Jiang Jian is proud, competitive, and intensely committed to Martial Dao. As a child, he preferred a weapon he could not yet lift because overcoming that limitation gave him something to strive toward 92. He actively sought sparring partners, repeatedly challenged Huang Chuan, and grew bored once no one on Dragon Arising Mountain could match him 97 104.

Despite his confidence, he is not driven by political ambition. He deliberately chose cultivation over princely power and understood that competing with Jiang Xiu for the throne could destabilize the imperial family 95 98. Jiang Changsheng considers his resolve among the strongest in the Jiang Clan, forged through the hardships he has endured 570.
