The higher a Spirit Body rose, the harder it became to improve. One low-grade Bloodfiend Crystal could raise Ye Chen's Spirit Body from early fourth rank to the peak of early fourth rank, but another one might not necessarily raise it to middle fourth rank, let alone late fourth rank or peak fourth rank. As for a fifth-rank Spirit Body, no amount of low-grade Bloodfiend Crystals would help. The human body developed resistance; if one used too much of the same thing, it would produce resistance and rejection. Eventually, it would have no effect at all, just like medicine. Take too much of one medicine, and its effects would become negligible afterward.

Low-grade Bloodfiend Kings varied in strength. Ye Chen was no match for the stronger ones, but at least he had a chance to escape. The existence of the Sword Domain allowed him to suppress an opponent's speed. Of course, it would be best not to encounter a middle-grade Bloodfiend King.
