None of these rules existed before Buddhism spread. They only evolved into this after reaching Shenzhou, and... only Shenzhou's monks followed these rules.
Monks in other countries could keep short hair, eat meat and drink alcohol, marry, and have children. Shenzhou Buddhism could really only be considered a localized religion of Shenzhou! It was vastly different from Buddhism elsewhere.
Because of these differences, the Buddhist practices they cultivated were also vastly different.
Especially when it came to Japanese monks and Shenzhou monks—the difference was obvious at a glance.
Although Master Tianzhu dressed similarly to a Japanese monk, the Buddhist teachings he cultivated were not Japanese. They were more like those of Shenzhou's monks.
Mei and Crimson Crow's Wing cautiously followed the two. They had not gone very far, and after only about half an hour, they arrived at a desolate battlefield.
There were still dozens of corpses lying across the battlefield. No one had come to collect them, and quite a few had already become bare bones.

The yaksha and the master arrived at the battlefield. Seeing several corpses that had yet to decay, the yaksha could not help licking his lips.

"You wouldn't let me touch the living. You won't stop me from touching these dead people, will you? They're already dead anyway. Rather than leave behind these useless bodies, they
