Catherine thought it over. Lin Shen really had not been as silver-tongued with He Se Ni as he had been with her. He had even nearly beaten He Se Ni to death.

"If you say such rogueish things again, don't blame me for being rude." Catherine feigned anger and shot Lin Shen a vicious glare.

"You were the one who asked, yet you won't let me speak. Being a man is truly too hard." Lin Shen sighed as he pushed open the room's door, only to find a servant waiting outside.

"Sir, the host requests that you go alone to Elegant Garden for a talk." Seeing Lin Shen emerge, the servant hurriedly said.

"Long Yue wants me to go to Elegant Garden alone?" Lin Shen knew that Elegant Garden was where Long Yue lived, and he found it strange that she had asked him to come by himself.

Though he had done his utmost today to draw closer to Long Yue, he clearly was not skilled at currying favor with others. He could tell that Long Yue was not particularly impressed by his flattering words.

Lin Shen looked toward Catherine, but she walked over and wrapped her arms around his arm. "The Dialectic Assembly is over, and we still have matters to attend to, so we won't disturb Lady Long Yue."
