Where clouds gathered, dragons followed; where winds rose, tigers came.
The Evil Dragon King stood proudly in the heavens, his bony wings spread like clouds hanging from the sky.
With every breath, wind and thunder rolled between his teeth. The deafening roar shook the Bottomless Cold Abyss until it rumbled, as though it might collapse at any moment.
"Could that be... the Evil Dragon King of Thunder Fire Purgatory?"
Everyone's pupils contracted. As they looked up at the mighty dragon commanding wind and cloud, their souls trembled.
But their shock lasted only an instant.
The next moment, every gaze was drawn upward as though by a magnet. Unable to hide their horror, they all looked toward an even greater height—
Shen Yun stood calmly atop the dragon's head, his robes whipping in the wind and thunder. He was looking down at a lustrous white cocoon, as unhurried as if he were taking a stroll through a garden.
"To think it was a Konghua Dream Butterfly..."
As his divine sense flowed through the cocoon's soft glow, he glimpsed its true form.
"Konghua," or "flowers in the sky," came from Buddhist scripture and meant illusory flowers.
It spoke, first, of a butterfly so beautiful it seemed not to exist in the real world; second, of its innate divine ability—what it saw was not true, and what it dreamed was not real. Its mysteries were unfathomable.
"The Konghua Dream Butterfly commands reality and illusion. It could be called a sovereign among Thought Dao Divine Beasts."
The Evil Dragon King's voice rumbled like muffled thunder. "To think the Ice Silkworm King found such an opportunity... Looks like she meant to devour its bloodline and seize its nest for herself."
For Divine Beasts, bloodline played an enormous part in how far they could ultimately rise.
