Before her confrontation with Xiao Wu at Glazed Heaven, Bibi Dong had killed Xiao Wu's mother and absorbed her soul ring and soul bone. This makes her the central target of Xiao Wu's hatred 172 179.

During an earlier journey through the City of Slaughter, the Rakshasa God ordered Bibi Dong to prove her sincerity by contaminating the Asura Blood Pool. She used her essence blood as a catalyst for its divine power, an act she later describes with bitterness 438.
