A night passed.

Ren Suo woke up feeling refreshed. He sat up in bed and stretched lazily, his bones crackling crisply as though every part of his body had been awakened.

Perhaps because he had regained his emotions, Ren Suo slept especially well that night without dreaming—despite the fact that even in his state of absolute rationality, he dreamed every night, as if he had spent the entire night working as a cement mixer and ended up exhausted beyond measure.

Although Ren Suo's physique as a Fourth Cycle Cultivator allowed him to recover immediately upon waking, and the exhaustion in his dreams was merely an illusion, it still greatly affected the quality of his sleep.

Because Ren Suo had moved a little too much, the black cat sleeping curled beside his pillow was awakened as well. Ren Suo stroked her fur, picked her up, and buried his face in her for two deep sniffs. The black cat raised her chin, so Ren Suo scratched beneath it until she narrowed her eyes in contentment.

Setting the black cat atop his head, Ren Suo went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash up, casually helping the black cat brush her teeth too. Unexpectedly, the black cat actually rather liked having her teeth brushed. Perhaps the special toothbrush felt comfortable, or perhaps the cheese flavored toothpaste tasted good...

He checked the time. It was 10:45. A little early.

Ren Suo looked at the Pandora's Box equipment in the living room and thought about it before deciding to keep it.
