Background / History

Ji Ning arrived in the Netherworld after death and received the Nuwa Painting and Stygian River Painting from Prefect Cui. While reincarnating, he unconsciously awakened the Master of the Stygian Blood Sea and saved the Six Paths of Reincarnation from the Seamless Gate's assault. 431

Born into the Ji Clan of Yan Mountain, he was deeply devoted to his parents, Ji Yichuan and Yu Chi Xue. When his mother faced imminent death, he rejected reincarnation as a solution because he believed a future incarnation would not truly be the same person. 439 Oriana saved Yu Chi Xue by remaking her mortal body into an Innate God-Demon Body, then accepted Ji Ning as a disciple and revealed the coming calamity facing the Ji Clan. 440
