Richard was undoubtedly a bombshell.
A creature that had required the destruction of the Previous Civilization to seal—if left unchecked, the price paid in the future would absolutely be catastrophic.
"And there's more bad news," Richard continued. "According to the Previous Civilization's records, the Civilization Devourer fed on war. Every defeated party would become his nourishment.
"And now, this starry sky has been set ablaze by war."
Silence—suffocating silence.
The auras of the many Truth Wizards around the round table rose and fell unevenly, revealing the stormy waves within their hearts.
In the end, Shaping Crown spoke first. "The flames of war have already been lit. Peace talks are impossible. No matter how strong the Civilization Devourer is, he has only just broken free from his seal and is still weak.
"During the battle in the Wilds, Alchemy and I inflicted quite a few injuries on him. And these past years, Curse, your pursuit of him must have drained a great deal of his strength as well.
"As long as we move quickly enough, we will have time to rebuild and develop, then mediate the war in the name of civilization."
Richard had no intention of disputing that statement.
Wizard Dimensions and Star River Mayflies could not possibly reconcile. Their war could only end with one side submitting or perishing.
Though some of the other Crowns seemed to have something to say, they ultimately raised no objections.
Shaping Crown's proposal was tacitly accepted.
"Does anyone have any other information? If not, let's first draft regulations for the use of the Furnace," Alchemy Crown said. "As for the Previous Civilization Library, we can discuss it after Richard compiles the Library catalog."
"Agreed."
"I agree as well."
"My opinion is that this Furnace should be removed from the war merit system."
