Richard knew nothing of the confrontation hidden behind the curtain.
At this moment, he was studying the map and documents, considering his next move.
Based on the information currently available to him, the forces of both sides in this world were roughly evenly matched. On the lower-tier battlefield, the Wizards were somewhat lacking in numbers, but they held a certain advantage in mid-tier combat power.
Thanks to support from the Magic Beasts of Beast Origin World and the great victory in World 2456, the Wizards had already surpassed the Star River Mayflies in mid-tier combat power.
Though several decades had now passed, that advantage still remained.
"The situation looks good."
Richard studied the map, calculating the Wizard side's overall figures.
By his calculations, although the two sides' total strength was evenly matched, the Wizards actually held a degree of initiative due to their superiority in mid-tier combat power.
"Given the current situation, there's no longer any need for full-scale defense."
Passive defense was an act born of helplessness. While relying on fortifications and Magic Arrays to fight the Star River Mayflies looked satisfying enough,
it was actually a slow suicide.
The Star River Mayflies' offensives came without end, but Wizard fortifications could be damaged.
Once the fortifications were destroyed, scattered Wizards had no ability whatsoever to resist the Insect Tide.
Moreover, to the Star River Mayflies, conventional terrain and natural barriers were utterly meaningless.
Passive defense meant stationing substantial forces in every direction, and that meant spreading their troops thin.
Yet, because they held the initiative in the war, the Star River Mayflies could freely mobilize their battle groups and launch a massive offensive anywhere on the battlefield.
Richard looked at the map, a cold gleam flashing through his eyes.
"The era of sitting out the war should be over."
