As the countdown ended, the atmosphere across the entire Abyss World suddenly changed.
Both the Alliance and the Furnace People could clearly feel this change.
It felt as though the course of a great river had suddenly shifted.
The Furnace People quickly realized that this was a sign that a World-Ending Weapon had been activated.
The battle formation fortresses in the sky that had been preparing to enter the world immediately rose again, while the Furnace People legions on the ground flew up into the sky.
A World-Ending Weapon was only useful if it was stopped before activation. Once activated, any such weapon was enough to warrant the highest level of caution from an entire legion.
The targets of World-Ending Weapons were, in truth, ruler-level combatants. If one could trap a ruler within a world, the power of certain World-Ending Weapons was even enough to obliterate both body and soul.
At the very least, the Furnace People possessed such weapons, and they had indeed massacred rulers with them before.
However, the retreating Furnace People had clearly gotten one fact wrong.
They were not facing a world, but a Lifeform Disguised as a World.
From the moment this world had been completely corrupted, it had become part of the vast and complex lifeform known as the Abyss.
By entering this place, they had effectively entered the Abyss's body. How could a terrifying creature like the Abyss possibly let them leave!
In an instant, the World Wall erupted with violent fluctuations. An unimaginable spatial compression nearly instantaneously severed those War Fortresses that had not yet completely passed beyond the World Wall. Their fractures were as smooth as mirrors, without so much as a burr.
Then, the energy in the air began to tremble.
Every world had its own special rules, but in
