Old Estes watched with a smile as Newborn soothed his grandson with just a few words.
He had given him that name.
What his grandson said was a little absurd, but he still believed it.
His cloudy eyes turned toward Newborn.
This man was definitely not as simple as he appeared. That was what Old Estes had felt the moment he first saw Newborn.
He could smell the smoke of war on the man.
And there was also that absurd way he had appeared.
No matter how he looked at it, this man was no ordinary person.
"Newborn, come with me to buy some iron ingots later."
Old Estes spoke up.
He did not actually care that much about the man's identity.
As long as he was not some freak or someone who would harm his family, that was enough.
After spending the past two days together, he had found that this person was very upright.
And whenever it mattered, he always said things that sounded righteous and imposing.
That meant he had to be some important figure on the side of justice.
But for now, he was simply an employee in their shop.
Newborn.
"Sure." Newborn agreed without even thinking.
"What about me, Grandpa?" Little Estes protested, holding out his hand as he asked.
"You'll watch the shop yourself." Old Estes answered directly.
"It's not as safe outside as it is here."
All sorts of freaks and heroes kept appearing outside, but this small town had always been peaceful.
Everyone believed this was the safest place.
At the very least, no freaks or terrifying monsters had ever appeared in this town.
Those things always showed up in the big cities instead.
"Got it." Little Estes looked thoroughly displeased.
To buy iron ingots, they had to go to a nearby
