Chapter Summaries

Obito Uchiha traveled to Iwagakure and Kumogakure to recruit allies for an attack on Konoha. Ōnoki agreed to join if Sunagakure and Kumogakure did too, and A committed Kumogakure at the end.

• Obito Uchiha bypassed Iwagakure's guard and confronted Ōnoki about attacking Konoha.

Jin strolled through Konoha with Yakushi Nonō, met Might Duy, and warned Nonō about his strength. Meanwhile, Hiruzen Sarutobi continued to hold real power over Minato Namikaze as the village prepared for Kushina's childbirth and the Nine-Tails threat.

• Shino Ryoma and Root members attacked Danzo, and Danzo used the Reverse Four Symbols Sealing Technique in a final attempt to take Jin with him, sealing only Jin’s floating chair.

• Jin told Hiruzen Sarutobi he had never wanted to become Hokage and that he had come to clear obstacles for Minato Namikaze.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi brought Shikaku Nara, Inoichi Yamanaka, Choza Akimichi, and Might Guy forward to confront Jin, but Jin's darkness knocked them unconscious.

Minato Namikaze exhausted his Natural Energy protecting Konoha, but Jin arrived in time to save him and defeated Raikage A with his Black Sun. Jin then revealed that he had killed the Third Hokage and Konoha’s advisors, claiming he had cleared the way for Minato to become Hokage.

• Raikage A and Ōnoki launched a coordinated attack on Minato Namikaze, who used his remaining Natural Energy to move Konoha out of danger before taking their pincer attack alone.
• Jin emerged from the smoke supporting Minato Namikaze, while A and Ōnoki wondered whether Mr. An had been killed.
• Jin used Black Sun to devour the Natural Energy sustaining the Dharma Bodies, leaving Raikage A kneeling before him.
