Then Grandmaster waved a hand, signaling that they should get moving.
Loki and Valkyrie walked out of Grandmaster's room, and Loki asked, "What did you do?"
Valkyrie said bluntly, "I don't take orders from you, lackey."
Thor grabbed Valkyrie by the wrist and stressed, "It's Loki."
"You take orders from Grandmaster."
Valkyrie slapped Loki's hand away, and the two of them launched into close-quarters combat. But clearly, Loki was no match for her, and Valkyrie punched him in the forehead.
Loki took a step back, drew a dagger, pointed it at Valkyrie, and asked, "Why would you help my brother and that green idiot escape?"
Dagger appeared in Valkyrie's hand as well, and she said, "I don't help anyone."
Clearly, Loki had guessed wrong this time. Valkyrie had not helped Thor and Hulk.
The two of them fought again with dagger in hand. Through their exchange, Loki saw the Valkyrie mark on Valkyrie's wrist and said in surprise, "You're a Valkyrie."
Although Loki knocked Valkyrie's dagger away, he was soon kicked down against the wall by her.
"I thought all the Valkyries died horribly."
Valkyrie drove a knee into Loki's chest and said in a low voice, "Think carefully about what you say next."
Loki looked at her and said, "I'm terribly sorry. That memory must be painful."
Loki covered Valkyrie's forehead with one hand and used magic to directly awaken the memory Valkyrie least wanted to face.
The next second, Valkyrie was immersed in the memory she least wanted to face or recall.
