The next day.
K. Redel slept until dawn in his room at the Continental Hotel, while Eddie and Barton came up empty after raiding his home. In the end, they could only agree to arrest him once they found out where he was hiding.
K. Redel got out of bed, washed up, then picked up his phone and called his boss. The result he got was that the phone was turned off.
It seemed the result was just as he had expected. Something had gone wrong at headquarters, but he still needed to ask around to find out exactly what.
Leaving his room, K. Redel made his way down to an iron door on the basement level. After placing a Gold Coin into the slot on the door, the lock cylinder inside slowly turned, and then the door opened.
Beyond the open door was a bar. Though it was morning, quite a few assassins were seated inside drinking.
K. Redel walked straight to the bar, sat down on a stool, took a Gold Coin from his pocket, placed it in front of the bartender, and said, "Hell's Kitchen's 13K. What happened last night?"
The bartender picked up the Gold Coin on the counter, confirmed there was no problem with it, then took out a card from beneath the bar and handed it to him. "Take it. Someone will come to you soon."
K. Redel accepted the card and nodded.
Then he went to an empty booth and, after paying a Gold Coin, ordered a meal.
The food arrived quickly. K. Redel began eating his breakfast, and before long, a burly white man walked up to his table and sat down. Then he took the card on the table and put it into his pocket.
