Thor, however, did not accept his father's words and argued back:
"That's right. He'll destroy us."
Odin said unconcernedly, "You overestimate these monsters."
"No. I simply value our people's lives. If Charlotte hadn't been there, Mother would have faced an unprecedented crisis this time."
At those words, Odin fell silent.
Thor continued, "I plan to ask Charlotte to take Jane to the Dark World with me and draw the enemy away from Asgard."
"When Malekith removes the Aether from Jane's body, it will be exposed and vulnerable."
"When the time comes, Charlotte and I will destroy them together."
Odin turned around, looked at Thor, and said, "What will be vulnerable?"
Thor answered, "The Aether."
"As long as I destroy the Aether, Malekith's plot will collapse on its own."
Hearing Thor's idea, Odin almost wanted to laugh.
His eldest son was still too young. The fact that he had thought to invite Charlotte to help made Odin view him a little more highly—at least he was no longer trying to fight alone as he had in the past. But wanting to destroy the Aether was completely impossible.
Thor did not know what the Aether was, but Odin knew very well. It was an Infinity Stone. With Thor's abilities, there was no way he could destroy the Reality Stone.
Then he refused, saying, "You do not even know what the Aether is. How can you speak of destroying it?"
"What's more, you cannot destroy the Aether at all. Your actions will only put the weapon into the enemy's hands."
Hearing his father deny that he had the ability to destroy the Aether, Thor asked in confusion, "What exactly is it that you would think I cannot destroy it?"
