"Ao Xu would definitely rebuke you if he heard that: 'How dare a mere divine child speak my honored name?'" Jing Tian said.
"Then I'll beat him up again," Nu Ba said.
The two were merely teasing Ao Xu. Nu Ba could not truly be considered a divine child.
Ao Xu, a supremacist of the God Realm, despised the divine children he deemed unworthy of being called gods—offspring born from the reproduction of gods.
A god's spiritual power was far too pure. Once two gods joined together, they would bear children.
And this did not apply only to the mother.
As a divine child grew, if both parents were gods, both would weaken and die along with the child's growth.
Twins, triplets, or more were manageable. But having only one child meant trading two mature warriors of the God Realm for an immature god who possessed divine power but needed time to develop.
Moreover, divine children grew slowly, making such a loss difficult to sustain.
"I regret it." Nu Ba's smile faded. "I clung too dearly to everything in the mortal world and refused to leave, overlooking the fact that as long as I existed, the moisture around me would evaporate, turning everything into scorched earth."
Of the five gods who descended to the mortal world, only she had survived. There was a reason she had been sealed away.
She had not harmed humanity. She simply did not want to return to Heaven, nor did she wish to go back to the cold and lifeless God Realm.
Yet her mere existence brought harm to the human realm.
"You want to return to the God Realm? That isn't a good idea," Jing Tian said.
"No. Certainly not that stagnant God Realm. I want to go to the Demon Realm," Nu Ba
