The seawater suddenly grew as thick as blood plasma. Countless crimson bubbles erupted from cracks in the Earth Vein, staining the dark-blue water curtains a savage maroon. The glowing jellyfish curled into frightened balls, the coral palaces lost their color under the heat, and boiling bubbles rose across the silver-sand streets.
The once orderly streets descended into chaos. Sea Monsters and merfolk scattered in panic, their pearl ornaments spilling everywhere. The glazed windows of the shell palaces burst one after another, the coral dome began to collapse, and massive chunks of reef crashed onto the streets.
More and more crimson bubbles gathered, condensing into hideous ghostly faces in the seawater.
The silver sand melted into liquid under the heat, flowing across the ground like Mercury.
Within the distant cracks of the Earth Vein, golden-red magma could vaguely be seen churning. The entire undersea city trembled, as though it could be swallowed by earthfire at any moment.
