"Check."
Yao Ziyan placed the chess piece in her hand.
Luo Chuan stared at the board, his brows faintly furrowed.
How had he lost for no apparent reason?
That made no sense!
When Wen Tianji and his two disciples arrived at Origin Mall, this was the scene that greeted them.
Yao Ziyan and Luo Chuan sat facing each other.
They appeared to be in the middle of a game.
And judging from their expressions, the boss seemed to have lost again.
Mm... why had he used the word "again"?
Several spectators gathered around the counter, most of them looking rather bewildered, seemingly unable to understand the scene before them.
Muted voices could vaguely be heard.
"What are those two doing?"
"Playing chess."
"Isn't that obvious? I mean, what kind of chess is this? I've never seen it before."
"No idea. I only just got here myself, and I'm completely in the dark too..."
Every now and then, curious customers would come over for a look. Once they realized it was a board game, they quickly lost interest.
A chess match was not like Dou Dizhu, which was welcomed by nearly everyone.
Wen Tianji and the other two curiously walked over.
After recognizing who had arrived, the surrounding customers tactfully stepped aside to make room.
Wen Tianji looked toward the chessboard between Luo Chuan and Yao Ziyan.
It differed from the boards for Go and Gomoku; it was no longer simply made up of intersecting lines.
A blank area called the "Chu River Han Border" divided the middle.
The two sides appeared to be where the pieces were arranged.
The pieces were no longer simple black-and-white stones either. Each one had its own name.
Wen Tianji was certain that every piece was different, playing a distinct role according to its position.
