The mountain forest in the early morning was shrouded in a faint mist. The dark brown cliff face had been dampened by the fog, covered in tiny droplets of water that trickled down once they gathered in sufficient amounts, falling with a "drip-drop" into the small pool below.

A few dim stars still hung in the ink-blue sky, while the moon was no more than a blurry shadow. An occasional breeze swept past, sending ripples through the mist and lending everything an indescribably dreamy haze.

Luo Chuan yawned and tightened his collar.

Though it was already the Month of Revival, the mountains were still somewhat chilly in the morning. The air was damp, crystalline dew gathered on the surfaces of grass, trees, and leaves, and it was so quiet that there was almost no sound at all.

"Yaaawn~ So why did I have to come too?"

Luo Chuan rubbed his eyes. He had not fully woken up before Yao Ziyan forcibly dragged him out of bed. He had not even eaten breakfast.

Just then, a breeze brushed across her face, gently stirring her purple hair and the hem of her clothes.

"Not curious." Luo Chuan stepped forward, rested both arms on the stone railing, and propped up his head with his hands. "Compared to standing here in the cold wind, I prefer a warm bed."

So sleepy. I want to sleep.

He yawned again. Everything before his bleary eyes looked a little blurry, but he vaguely noticed a touch of gold-red appearing on the horizon, striking amid the dim morning light.
