Soul Lock was not at all surprised to hear Black Scale's mockery.
Many members of the Endless Divine Court did not truly possess any so-called faith in the Lord of the End. Yet it could not be denied that mortals and gods were fundamentally different. They had long since become extensions of the Lord of the End's power, and the moment they joined the Endless Divine Court, their so-called freedom was utterly lost.
Even death could not free them from the shackles the Lord of the End had placed upon them. Their souls would likewise return to the embrace of the god and become part of the Lord of the End.
Only after quietly waiting for Black Scale to finish did Soul Lock slowly speak. "Do not use your fixed understanding to judge all things. Before coming here, did you know that another god existed in this world?"
Black Scale froze.
Judging from his reaction, he clearly had not considered that possibility.
If another god had intervened, then things he had once considered utterly impossible appearing before him now seemed perfectly reasonable. After all, anything related to gods remained normal no matter how absurd it was.
"How do you think the Endless Divine Court would judge your current state?" Soul Lock looked at Black Scale as though looking at an idiot. "If I am not mistaken, after I completely lost contact with the Endless Divine Court, I should have been deemed thoroughly dead. How much do you think you differ from me?"
