The night was still and secluded.
Hazy starlight and moonlight streamed into the room, casting blurred outlines across the floor. Everything in sight became black silhouettes, like a drowsy dream awaiting the moment of awakening.
In this quiet, elegant setting, Luo Chuan and Yao Ziyan lay on opposite sides of the large bed, each holding a Magic Phone and chatting.
...All right, the situation itself was already full of things to complain about.
"I say, don't you think it's strange for us to chat on Magic Phones while lying right next to each other?" Luo Chuan could not help reaching out to poke Yao Ziyan beside him, mocking their current situation.
Yao Ziyan immediately shrank back, then turned and glared at Luo Chuan. "Didn't I tell you not to cross the line?"
"This counts too?" Luo Chuan raised his brows.
"Yes, it counts." Yao Ziyan nodded with certainty. After thinking for a moment, she put away her Magic Phone, leaned over, and lightly pressed her lips to Luo Chuan's face with her eyes closed. Most of her face was buried beneath the blanket, making her voice sound muffled. "I'm sleepy. I'm going to sleep. Good night."
Her glasslike violet eyes were clear and bright, like a lake bathed in moonlight.
"Good night." Luo Chuan looked into those pure eyes without the slightest impurity and spoke softly, as though unwilling to shatter the beauty before him.
The dark clouds blanketing the night sky seemed to have dispersed completely. The bright moonlight passing through the window grew much clearer, light and shadow intertwining in a dreamlike haze.
Luo Chuan slept soundly. It would have been even better if he had not dreamed of sinking into the deep sea and being unable to breathe.
