The girl in white clothes and white cloth boots landed lightly on the ground. Smiling, she patted the head of the creature beside her.
It should have been a rather powerful demon beast.
Its body was covered in interwoven gray-yellow patterns. It stood around two meters tall and was nearly five meters long. All six of its limbs were armored in black exoskeleton-like plating, while its head was covered in scales that reflected all manner of dazzling colors beneath the sunlight. Its three eyes resembled snake pupils.
Its tail was another head—a head like that of a giant snake, constantly flicking its tongue, presumably to catch scent molecules in the air.
The Tianlan Continent was home to countless species. Who knew what directions their evolution had taken? Even the most comprehensive records held by sects and powerful factions were but an insignificant fraction compared to the whole Tianlan Continent.
This demon beast might have been born this way, or perhaps it had undergone some mutation later in life—or, rather, evolution.
It perfectly conformed to the "rules" of this world.
