Ice stood beneath a billboard, reaching her hand outside to feel the cool touch of raindrops falling on her skin.
The once bustling pedestrians had now dwindled to only a few. The streetlights were still on, but their glow had become blurred by the thick curtain of rain. The distant buildings had turned into hazy, gloomy silhouettes, like a dream from which one had yet to awaken.
Ice stretched lazily, preparing to close up shop.
About half of the umbrellas she had put out had been sold. Of those priced in Spirit Crystals, only four had sold—one to the unlucky middle-aged man from earlier, and the other three to those three young women.
Ice was quite satisfied with that. In such a short time, she had earned nearly two hundred Spirit Crystals, and she was very happy.
Because of the rain, the air had grown increasingly damp. The humidity had likely risen to quite an impressive level.
Ice actually liked environments rich with moisture, though that depended on the occasion. Right now, she wanted more than anything to find somewhere dry and warm to sleep properly. Tomorrow morning, she would visit Origin Mall; perhaps she might even run into her eldest sister there.
Ice had already made ample plans in her mind.
