Bai casually withdrew her hand, rose to her feet, and patted off dust that did not exist on her clothes. She called to Sang Yun, who was reading nearby, "Yun, let's go."
"Mm." Sang Yun returned the large beast-hide book to the shelf and followed Bai.
The priest sat before the desk, where the large black book with a scaled cover lay open to a certain page.
Bai curiously leaned over for a look.
Naturally, she could not understand the writing, but that did not stop her from looking at the illustrations.
The illustration was roughly divided into two parts.
One part seemed to depict some powerful creatures descending upon this world.
They spread their wings and flew through the air, breathing fire at the tangled mess on the ground as though trying to purify it. Amid those lines, the earth had already become a chaos of colors.
These creatures had two wings, and their colors varied. Their immense bodies seemed like perfect creations, their appearance ninety percent similar to the legendary giant dragons.
The tangled lines probably represented some sort of destructive thing.
For some reason, Bai suddenly recalled the disaster her eldest sister had once told her about.
Could there be some connection between them?
Bai did not know.
The other part of the illustration seemed to have little connection with the first.
The creature in the image should have been a snake, but its form gradually changed. Bone spurs appeared on its tail, neck, and back, resembling fluffy fur, while its snout bulged and its mouth filled with gleaming white fangs.
As time passed, two foreclaws appeared, followed by two hind claws—swift and powerful enough to crush rocks with ease. Dark clouds, giant dragons, and towering floods swallowed the earth.
