Anno shook her head and hugged the cushion behind her to her chest.
Whenever Yao Ziyan wore that sort of expression, it was best not to follow along with whatever she said. Nothing good ever came of it.

The two chatted idly about all sorts of topics, the young woman's pleasant laughter sounding from time to time, adding a touch of tranquil elegance to the tavern's boisterous atmosphere.

Someone suddenly knocked on the tavern door, producing a somewhat muffled sound.
It was raining outside, so unlike usual, the door was shut. The customers present presumably had no desire to bathe in rain and cold wind.
"A customer?" Yao Ziyan glanced toward the door. "At this hour, too."
"I'll open it." Anno stood and headed toward the door.
The customers in the tavern were wholly unaffected, still immersed in their Hearthstone Legends matches and noisily discussing them.

The elf girl opened the door with a warm smile on her face.
Yet when she saw the customer before her clearly, she could not help freezing. The attire was simply far too unusual.
An enormous black robe concealed the figure completely. A hood covered the head as well, while the face was hidden deep within darkness as dense as ink.
It was not darkness in the visual sense, but rather some sort of peculiar shadow veil.

After blanking for a moment, Anno hurriedly stepped aside. At the same time, she noticed that the rain falling upon this customer was blocked by an invisible barrier.
