Ausia and Elizabeth sat facing each other, their gazes locked.
A faint smile rested on Ausia's face. She had maintained that expression ever since earlier.
Elizabeth still wore her signature loose black robe, her features hidden behind a veil formed of shadow energy.
Even the dullest person could tell that the atmosphere between the two was somewhat off.
"Do they know each other?" Yao Ziyan quietly asked Giant Axe.
Based on the earlier conversation, since Giant Axe had met Ausia before, Giant Axe surely knew some related information.
"Of course they know each other." Giant Axe's voice was loud enough that Yao Ziyan felt Ausia and Elizabeth could hear every word, yet neither reacted. "I don't know the exact details, but it seemed that Ausia accidentally visited Elizabeth's Deathwood Forest back then, and there was a bit of friction. Right?"
The final question was clearly directed at the two of them.
"Indeed." Ausia nodded in reply, but her gaze never left Elizabeth. "I didn't know the way at the time and stumbled into Elizabeth's territory by accident."
"Commander Ausia's combat ability is very strong." There was little emotion to be heard in Elizabeth's voice.
"Thank you. You're formidable too." Ausia smiled.
Yao Ziyan blinked as she watched the two begin a Hearthstone match amid their "pleasant conversation." It was strange beyond words.
With a sigh, she felt it would be better to leave.
Staying here would likely only make her mood grow more depressed.
Yao Ziyan casually grabbed a bottle of fruit wine from the shelves, then came to the counter and stood behind Anno, watching her play Xiangqi with Luo Chuan.
"I lost."
Before long, the elf girl let out a long sigh and placed down the piece in her hand, but there was no saving the situation.
"Checkmate."
