Ausia's answer plunged the entire meeting room into silence.
Nearly every member of the Elder Council wore an astonished expression. Naturally, they understood perfectly well what this so-called "Divine Artifact" represented.
Mu let out a soft breath, suppressing the thoughts that had sprung up in her heart and doing her best to calm down. "According to what we know so far, that Divine Artifact is in a shattered state. What exactly caused this?"
"I don't know." Ausia shook her head. "I can't give you an answer to that question."
"When it was discovered, two entirely different energies were locked in a stalemate. Aside from the Divine Artifact's own power, the other one... was it a god?" Mu raised another question.
"Only gods can contend against gods," Ausia said softly.
To stand against the truest power of a god, it had to be power of at least the same level.
In other words, another god.
No matter how powerful mortal strength became, it could never cross that gulf like a heavenly chasm. There was an essential difference between gods and mortals.
Without question, the two opposing powers represented two different gods.
As for why they had appeared upon the same object, and why they had taken on such a confrontational state... no one knew.
"There's another question. Why did it appear beneath Steel City?"
Mu stared fixedly into Ausia's eyes, trying to glean some useful information from them.
At this, Ausia could not help but laugh.
The current leader of the Tide seemed somewhat helpless as she spread her hands and shook her head with a smile. "How would I know that?"
Mu also realized that her question had been inappropriate and smiled awkwardly. "Sorry, I didn't think it through."
"It's fine." Ausia did not seem to care in the slightest.
