Lock.
That was the Speaker's name for Frost.
Considering the peculiar nature of Tianlan Continent and Kolo, along with Frost's relationship with Ice and Frost, this title seemed to carry some special meaning as well.
"What did that mean?"
Following the principle of asking when he did not understand, Luo Chuan voiced his question.
"According to Mother's original design, she was supposed to exist as a lock, displaying changes within the prison in real time through data." The Speaker explained slowly.
"But reality exceeded expectations?"
Luo Chuan understood. This was another problem left over from the past.
And the root of it all pointed in the same direction—the Goddess.
Though he had never met her, Luo Chuan had gained a clear and accurate understanding of this Goddess.
Hard-headed and reckless, with plans that always went wrong.
Still, he could not blame her. Designing worlds like Tianlan Continent and Kolo without ever having gone to school was enough to prove she had the makings of a top student.
"Yes."
The Speaker nodded. "As I mentioned before, after Tianlan Continent resisted the impact, part of its structure developed in unpredictable directions. That included the lock Mother had set."
"So Frost existed from the very beginning?" Yao Ziyan blinked.
"No." The Speaker looked at Frost. The latter had little interest in the conversation and had already taken out her Magic Phone. "At first, she was merely a monitoring program."
For the convenience of users, most systems had corresponding display functions.
In other words, what people commonly called a client.
It could present the system's current operating state in a more intuitive and concrete manner.
Rather than using commands to directly call up information on the relevant processes.
So, according to the Speaker, Frost was equivalent to the system's monitoring and display terminal.
