"War is about to begin."
Frost gazed at the sky and murmured softly.
The azure heavens had completely changed in appearance. Pale mist churned without cease, rifts and lightning flashed constantly, seeming like the harbinger of an approaching storm.
Faintly, some Unspeakable Things revealed a corner of themselves within the void.
Profanity, chaos, madness, disorder...
No words could accurately describe them.
Those vast, tangled bodies had long surpassed the bounds of reason. An ordinary person would become a vessel of madness from a single glance, stepping into annihilation.
That was corruption, erosion, pollution, collapse.
The lake beneath their feet remained as calm as ever, reflecting a sky washed a clear blue, with several wisps of pure white clouds drifting leisurely by.
The world seemed to have become two parts.
Order faced chaos, reason contended against madness.
Whenever an era approached its end, the power of pollution would reach its peak, awaken from its long slumber, and attempt to overturn order, turning everything into chaos.
But such a violent reaction had never appeared before.
Had ages of accumulation finally caused quantitative change to trigger qualitative change?
Or had the boss's appearance shattered a balance that had endured for endless years?
No one knew the answer.
Yet compared to reality, the answer itself no longer seemed so important.
Frost withdrew her gaze and gently stroked the Little White Fox in her arms.
"War?"
The Demon Emperor sat opposite her, unable to stop himself from scratching his neck.
Just moments ago, while he had been exploring the Consciousness Realm, Frost had inexplicably brought him to Mirror Lake and then uttered those utterly baffling words.
Then again, this place really had become a little less friendly than when he first came here.
"Has the owner of Origin Mall done anything unusual recently?" Frost asked.
