The azure sea lay clear as a mirror, while the blue sky stretched high and pristine.
It looked like a scene that could only appear in dreams.
A figure flashed past in a streak of light.
Beneath the sea, a beautiful figure traveled alongside him.
As time passed, the surrounding waters grew ever calmer.
At first, Luo Chuan could still sense countless creatures in the depths of the ocean.
There were oceanic overlords like Octopus Monsters, as well as ordinary plankton.
Gradually, the number of marine creatures began to dwindle.
It was as though they were heading toward a forbidden zone of life.
After a while, Luo Chuan noticed that Yila had slowed down.
He slowed as well.
Before long, they came to a stop.
"Are we there?" Luo Chuan landed on the surface of the sea.
Yila emerged from the water and came to his side.
Her beautiful fish tail slapped unconsciously against the sea, sending up bursts of spray.
"Not yet." Yila shook her head. "We need to pass through several Spatial Nodes before we can get there."
"There don't seem to be any other creatures here."
Luo Chuan looked around. The sea was like a flawless mirror reflecting the sky above. There was no breeze, no waves; time itself seemed to have congealed here.
"We set up certain formations nearby that make ocean creatures overlook and avoid this place." Yila looked slightly helpless. "But some sea folk still stumble into the Spatial Nodes we set up and lose themselves in those nearly endless currents. So every so often, we have to go rescue those unlucky fellows."
It seemed that humans were not the only ones with a precious spirit of exploration; quite a few sea folk had it too.
Or, in other words, they had a death-seeking
