Rotigus did not quite understand.

Those mechanical spheres were not some kind of firepower weapon. They showed no obvious threat and were unlike any weapons humans had used before.

When he had noticed the spheres flying over, he had assumed they were coming to bombard him and hurriedly raised wall after wall of rotting vines.

Yet in the end, they had flown straight into the plague clouds and vanished without even a single explosion.

That was not a method humans commonly used. Under normal circumstances, they preferred to bombard everything with overwhelming firepower.

It left him somewhat unaccustomed to it.

"Something has been released—human Psyker Power Sorcery, along with technological methods?"

Within Rotigus's senses, the mechanical spheres had taken effect amid the plague clouds, seemingly causing some kind of change.

But he did not know exactly what that change was.

This Father of Rain merely used certain rules of the Warp to influence the weather. He did not understand how they specifically operated.

He was not like humans, capable of analyzing every rule and datum, extracting useful, verifiable data or variables from Chaos, and thereby exerting a deeper influence upon the Warp.

This led to a misjudgment. He missed the best chance to respond, and the spheres took effect within the plague clouds.

Not only the plague clouds—even the environment of Mud Swamp had been deeply affected by the Warp Environmental Modification System.

Everything had changed.

"Grandfather, where is my plague rain? And that diseased storm—"

Rotigus quickly discovered the problem. The plague clouds looked unchanged, but the torrential downpour that should have arrived had not come. Instead, a light drizzle began to fall.

The raindrops were so clear, like ordinary natural rainwater.

Moreover, the sweet, fishy wind had not formed into a storm, as though something had stopped it.
