He frowned. "We're about ninety-nine light-minutes from the target. At our marching speed within the Dark Rift, we may be able to return to New Dragon Forest Planet and set up a defense within a hundred and thirty minutes."

That was already an extremely fast speed. Otherwise, at a warship's sublight cruising speed, it would probably take more than ten times as long to arrive.

As for Warp travel or sorcerous teleportation, under the current chaotic state of the airspace, they were far too unstable.
