"I hope there won't be a conflict, or this is going to get troublesome—"
Vulkan gazed at the Chaos Realm spreading to the end of his sight and at the abhorrent projection, and his heart sank despite himself.
That Chaos Lord was powerful. This was also his domain, an area roughly equal to a star system, and it contained a vast number of daemons.
A force like this was enough to stir up a storm of blood in any sector of the Imperium.
Once a conflict broke out, it would most likely trigger a major war and affect the mission to deploy the Blackstone Fortress.
As the Flame Forge Battle Barge drew closer, the bloody stench of the Chaos Realm grew fiercer, and waves of countless roars came rolling in.
Such evil.
It made Vulkan and the other Salamanders turn solemn, taking up guarded stances.
They knew how much malice these daemons bore toward humanity, and how difficult they were to deal with!
"The Chaos Daemons seem to be shouting someone's name?" Yet in the next moment, Vulkan and the others froze.
Something was not right. The sounds coming from the Chaos Realm were not true roars, but some kind of cheering.
Gradually, they heard the rhythmic noise of infernal bone instruments. It was strangely familiar.
"That's—the Hymn of the Savior?" Sakan listened closely, somewhat incredulous.
The melody was far too familiar. There was no way they could forget it.
"It seems to be—the third movement of the Hymn Suite, 'To Our Great Father of Genes'?" the Salamanders Terminator said.
He rather liked the Hymn of the Savior created by the Ogryns, and had even specially collected the black-gold deluxe edition of the Hymn Player, so he naturally would not mistake it.
Vulkan nodded slightly, agreeing with his Gene-Scion's assessment.
