Crash!
Russ smashed through the barrier on the skybridge, fell from between the towering buildings, and plunged toward the park forest below.
He landed in an impossible posture, dispersing the force of the fall, then hit the ground on all fours and sprinted through the trees with wolf-like agility.
Boom, boom, boom!
But his pursuers were just as fast, the roar of Jump Pack exhausts constantly closing in behind him.
Then a series of tracking Bolter Shells came at Russ from bizarre angles, carrying a malicious energy within them.
Even he, the Sixth Primarch, could not help but feel threatened.
The Bolter Shells were loaded with high-strength anesthetics. If he were hit repeatedly, even a Primarch would struggle to withstand it.
"Damn it. Without armor or weapons, I can't hold off those hunters!" Russ bared his teeth, his anxiety growing sharper.
He sensed more and more pursuers gathering.
If he could not shake them off, what awaited him next would be layer after layer of encirclement, and he would have no chance of getting close to the Tree of Life.
Especially those Astartes he had seen earlier, the ones wreathed in dark-red flame and marked with shark emblems. Every one of them possessed astonishing strength.
They were even more savage and keen than the elites of the Space Wolves.
Without armor and weapons, even he, the Sixth Primarch, would find it difficult to drive back these bloodthirsty pursuers.
It was not that Russ could not kill them. It was just that doing so would make it far too easy for them to bog him down, allowing even more enemies to surround him.
His goal now was not to kill the enemy, but to reach the Tree of Life as quickly as possible before they established an even denser defensive line
