Over the next two weeks, Naruto put on a show of training hard. In truth, he was mostly adapting to the Nine-Tails' Chakra, striving to grow accustomed to the amount provided by all nine tails as quickly as possible. He had already mastered the nature transformation of Wind Release.
"You're improving so quickly that I don't even know what to teach you anymore," Jiraiya remarked helplessly. Naruto learned far too fast, and Jiraiya's other ninjutsu did not suit him—especially the techniques he had developed using his own hair.
"Can I learn my father's Flying Thunder God Technique?" Naruto asked directly.
"Oh, did the Nine-Tails tell you? Your father, the Fourth Hokage, was indeed proficient in that technique. It's a type of Space-Time Ninjutsu, and Space-Time Ninjutsu is among the hardest to learn. If you want to study it, I can speak with the Third Hokage. The technique is recorded in the Scroll of Seals," Jiraiya said.
Naruto had read the Scroll of Seals many times, but he had never practiced the Flying Thunder God Technique. He did not consider himself a genius. The power of space within him had activated once while he was searching for a Summoning Animal, but he did not know whether it was still there. So, he wanted to give it a try.
"Then I'll have to trouble you, Sensei."
"That's enough for today. I'll go see the Third Hokage." Jiraiya hurried off, believing Naruto might very well revive the name of the Yellow Flash. The thought made him exceptionally excited.
"Old man, Naruto wants to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique. What do you think?" Jiraiya barged straight into the Hokage's office and shouted the moment he entered.
