Within a giant valley surrounded by mountains on all sides, deafening rumbles periodically echoed from a huge cave. The earth shook and the ground trembled violently.
A faint purple light reflected from the Stone Walls on either side of the cave, seemingly from some kind of ore.
Two streaks of flying light shot out of the cave, but they stopped before traveling far. They were, astonishingly, two disciples of the Ouyang Family.
Their faces had turned black, and pain was written across their features as both clutched their throats.
Before long, their gazes dimmed, and they fell to the ground.
Two enormous green spiders crawled out of the cave. Their fangs were exposed, and green venom dripped onto the ground, instantly corroding pits into it. They looked savage and terrifying.
Each spat out a thin strand of spider silk, wrapped it around one of the corpses, and dragged them back into the cave.
In an open forest choked with weeds, there was a pond over thirty meters wide at its center. Two pale golden lotus flowers grew within it, glimmering faintly in the breeze.
Several huge Black Toads lay on the ground near the pond.
A refined-looking disciple of the Sun Moon Palace cautiously approached the pond. The moment he came within thirty meters of it, two Dark Lights shot toward him. The Sun Moon Palace disciple swayed and hurriedly retreated, but just as he landed, two black thorny vines covered in sharp spikes suddenly burst from the ground and entangled his feet.
His protective spiritual light flickered wildly, on the verge of shattering at any moment.
Two muffled thuds rang out. Two bloody holes appeared in the Sun Moon Palace disciple's chest, and his body collapsed. The black thorny vines tightened around his corpse and dragged it underground,
